Rachel Larsen is an experienced musician with over ten years of continued study in the voice and five years of study in piano.

 

In 2013, Rachel graduated with a Bachelors of Music degree in Vocal Performance at San Francisco State University.  She is an active performer in the Bay Area and has been seen in productions with Golden Gate Opera, Lamplighter's Music Theatre, Pocket Opera, San Francisco State Opera Theatre, and will make her debust with The Lyric Theatre of San Jose this fall as Mad Margaret in their production of Gilbert & Sullivan's Ruddigore. Favorite show experiences include Gilbert & Sullivan's Iolanthe, The Mikado, The Gondoliers, H.M.S. Pinafore, Mozart's Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, Puccini's Madama Butterly, John Cepelak's premiere of Lincoln and Booth, and Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, where Rachel understudied the role of The Sorceress.

 

Her experience as a soloist in concert music includes San Francisco State University's performances of Vivaldi's Gloria and Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, under the direction of David Xiques.  As a singer with SFSU's University Chorus and Chamber Singers, Rachel has had the opportunity to work with San Francisco Symphony Chorus director, Ragnar Bohlin in performances of Stravinsky's Mass and Arvo Part's Passio.  Other memorable experiences include concerts under the direction of SFSU guest conductor, Donato Cabrera.  Performances include a collaboration with the San Francisco Youth Symphony's concert of Holst's The Planets and The California Symphony's concert of Beethoven's 9th Symphony

 

In 2013, Rachel was awarded third place in the Aria division and Art Song division at the NATS Bay Area Chapter Singing Festival.  She then proceeded to the Regional Level in Las Vegas where she won third place.  Rachel has also performed as a featured soloist in the Center Stage SF concert series, and is also experienced in singing at special events.
